Description:

Explore, Learn, and Grow at East Meadow Farm!

Bring your students for a hands-on, seasonal exploration of our demonstration gardens. Each field trip includes interactive activities designed to connect kids with nature, gardening, and local food systems.

Duration: 2 hours

Cost: $500 for up to 25 students
Teachers & Chaperones: Free for teachers and up to 2 chaperones

Enhance Your Experience: Additional program add-ons available for $250 per hour. Contact nassaucounty4h@cornell.edu for more information.

East Meadow Farm is open for field trips in the Fall and Spring on Thursdays and Fridays on the dates below.

Fall Dates:
October 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, 31
November 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21

Spring Dates:
April 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30
May 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22

Fall Programs

Pumpkin & Squash Explorers:
Learn about various pumpkins and squash, their growth cycles, and uses.

Soil & Compost Detectives:
Discover how composting contributes to healthy soil and plants.

Harvest & Farm to Table:
Explore fall crops, engage in a mini harvest, and discuss the journey of food from farm to table.

Spring Programs

Sensory Gardening:
Explore garden textures, scents, and sounds.

Pollinators in Action:
Learn about bees, butterflies, and their role in plant growth.

Spring Planting & Seed Science:
Discover seed sprouting, spring crops, and plant lifecycles.
