Agriculture Conservation, Outdoor Recreation and Nature Stewardship (ACORNS) is a program for youth 2-5 years of age and their caregivers to learn more about the world around them. Learning takes place in a year round outdoor environment in a hands-on, inclusive, educational, and exciting way. The best way to learn is by doing. Each class will consist of a topic that fits in with the overall monthly theme. Class will begin with a physical activity to get the participants ready to learn. This activity will be followed by a story time. Each book is selected to fit that day's theme. After this the main lesson will begin. While these lessons will teach participants something nature/ ag related we also create them to teach everyday skills. To wrap up each class there will be time for free play. This is where the participants can be creative, meet new peers, and develop those crucial skills of sharing, team work, communication, and more.
Cost: $25 per class
Monthly themes include Farming in Fall, Winter Wonderland, Water Power, Furry Friends, An Egg-cellent Time, Fun with Feathers, What's Bugging You, and Dairy Month.
Class runs every Tuesday from November 19th - June 24th. Age groups 2-3 meet from 11:00am - 12:45pm and age groups 4-5 meet from 1:00pm - 2:45pm.
