The Dorothy P. Flint Nassau County 4-H Camp offers a variety of outdoor educational opportunities. Youth and adult groups, businesses and community organizations are invited to rent the beautiful woodlands and beachfront facilities, whether for a school field trip, overnight or conference weekend. The camp is located on 140 acres adjacent to the L.I. Sound, north of Riverhead.
DPF 4-H Camp is proud to be part of the Cornell Cooperative Extension system through the New York State Land Grant Colleges at Cornell University. The property boasts over 140 acres of land on the majestic Long Island Sound in Riverhead. On the property, you will find 20 cabins to accommodate overnight stays for up to 250 people; a dining hall with full kitchen amenities; an infirmary; and bathhouses with flush toilets and showers. Two heated buildings are available for rental; Cliff House which has a kitchen and can sleep 32 people with a main room for conferences; and Staff House which can accommodate 12 to 18 people with a small main room. The Dorothy P. Flint Science Center / Nature Center has a main conference room and 6 classrooms. Recreational facilities include a High and Low Ropes Challenge course; recreational field; basketball court; tennis court; working organic farm; and a beach front on Long Island Sound.
Rentals can be customized according to need. Groups can rent the entire property or a smaller area – we’ve got what you are looking for.
DPF Nassau County 4-H Camp is accredited by the American Camp Association, the leader in the field of camping. The camp is also licensed by the New York State Department of Health, and is inspected twice each year.
Groups will be charged for the number of people eating meals or the reserved number, whichever is higher.
Proper nutrition is important to an enjoyable stay at DPF 4-H Camp. For an additional fee, we will be happy to have our Food Service staff work with your group to provide healthy meals during your visit.
Meals are served family style at long tables of 10 to 12 guests in the dining hall.
Meal reservations must be placed three (3) weeks prior to arriving at DPF 4-H Camp.
A written description of special meal requirements must be received by the Cornell Cooperative Extension Camp Office three (3) weeks prior to arrival. Vegetarian options are always provided.
