September 2021 COVID-19 Update

Due to our on-going health/safety concerns & the strict NYS protocols regarding the COVID-19 pandemic our Special Activities Center (SAC) and East Meadow Farm (EMF) buildings will remain closed to the public for the next 30 days. The EMF gardens (Community and Demonstration) are now open to the public.

All CCE-NC events, programs and meetings have been moved to an online format until further notice. Please continue to watch our website for specific upcoming events.

On March 19, 2012 our horticulture department relocated to a new farm building acquired by Nassau County through the Federal Open Land Act. The building is on 2 1/2 acres of organic farm land centrally located in East Meadow at:

832 Merrick Avenue
East Meadow, NY 11554

Diagnostic Information Center — CCE Staff and trained Master Gardeners assist members and non members with counter visits, soil pH tests, and phone calls. Click here to visit our Diagnostic and Soil Testing page.

  • Plants and lawn care
  • Indoor and outdoor insects 
  • Growing fruits and vegetables

Our Community Gardens are a wonderful way to bring horticulture and gardening to a community that may have limited space. For more information on our Community Gardens, visit our Community Gardens page. 

Our Demonstration Gardens at East Meadow Farm are maintained by Master Gardeners. Admission is free and they are open every day from dawn to dusk.

  • Dahlia Garden
  • Butterfly Garden
  • Herb Garden
  • Compost demonstration area
  • Mini Arboretum
  • Vegetable Garden
