Location: East Meadow, NY
This position will serve as the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) Nutrition Educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Nassau County. The EFNEP Nutrition Educator will primarily be responsible for the delivery of established EFNEP public education programming to improve healthy food and lifestyle choices for EFNEP program participants. Program participants will include limited resource parents, care givers with children under the age of 19 and youth throughout Nassau County. Educational programming includes, but is not limited to: general nutrition, food preparation, food safety and food budgeting. Nutrition education will take place at various community sites throughout Nassau County virtually and face to face. Other position responsibilities include but are not limited to: recruitment of participants; collecting and managing participant data ensuring confidentiality at all times; participate in on-going in-service education and staff meetings in Nassau County, New York City, Ithaca, and other locations as required. This position will also assist with marketing efforts for EFNEP programming in collaboration with other nutrition educators in the EFNEP region.

This position is a part-time, non-exempt position, 30 hours per week. The hourly rate for this position is $17.57 - $20.00, commensurate with experience. This position, based on eligibility, offers a comprehensive benefit package, to include: health and dental insurance, NYS retirement, vacation and sick leave.
