Seed Saving at Hillside Public Library

  • Tuesday, July 26, 2022, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Beginning in the latter part of the 20th century, there has been a major shift from "seed saving" to purchasing seeds from commercial seed suppliers. This shift is leading to a reduction in North America’s diverse garden heritage for future generations.

  • Join the "Master Gardeners" from the Nassau County Extension of the Cornell University Cooperative as they offer an insightful presentation that details what seeds are, the pollination process, the differences between heirlooms & pollinated seeds, and the basics of "seed saving".

*This program will be presented using the Zoom meeting platform, which can be viewed on a PC, Mac, Smartphone or tablet (using the Zoom Cloud Meeting App). The Zoom login information will be emailed to you the day before the program and again an hour prior to the program's start time.*
