  • Wednesday, September 13, 2017, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Join Community Gardener Dan Will on September 13, 2017 at 6:30pm

Location:  Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County 832 Merrick Avenue East Meadow, NY 11554

Dan is an avid home brewer with 18 years’ experience brewing beer, cider and more recently fermenting wine. As with any hobby or skill mastery, you start with the basics and build upon what you know as you progress. Over the course of the last 3 years, Dan has incorporated growing 4 varieties of hops that he uses in his brewing process, which adds another level of uniqueness to each batch.

A brief history of three different styles of hops (Aroma, flavoring, bittering), as well as how, when and why to use each in the beer brewing process. We will also embark on an Interactive tour of the Hops grown at the Cornell Cooperative Farm in East Meadow, and have an opportunity to pick, sample and experience the various characteristics and attributes.
