Sustainability: Urban Trees for a Changing Climate

Life on the street for a tree has always been tough, but it is and will continue to get tougher. With what we know now we can choose urban trees for street and parks that will withstand drought and floods, insects and diseases, however; understanding site limitations and opportunities will enable us to match the tree to the site and get the best result.

There is no one perfect tree! Maximizing tree diversity, selecting the best tree for a given site and mitigating difficult soil conditions will go a long way towards greening our cities.
