Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County is following all of the recommendations and guidance provided by both the New York State and Nassau County Departments of Health, as well as Cornell University to reduce the risk of exposure to the novel coronavirus.

To ensure the safety of all of our program participants and staff, small group sizes of less than 15 campers and regular cleaning procedures will be applied. Our program activities will be conducted in an outdoor or open-air environment when applicable, with the exception of inclement weather days and specialized activities. Volunteers and guest visitors will not be permitted to intermingle with the day camp program and must undergo a health screening before entering any shared buildings or facilities.

All adults must wear a face covering during pick-up and drop-off times when social-distancing cannot be maintained. Parents and guardians will not be permitted to enter the building for any reason. It is recommended that program participants use a face covering, however, it is not required. All of our staff will be required to use a face covering when indoors, or when social distancing cannot be maintained in an outdoor environment.
